Applications for the Audio-Technica AT2020

Choir Microphone
- Mount the mics on tall boom stands in front of the choir. This always works best with a stage riser. Use 3 or 4 AT2020 for a small to mid sized choir of 12 to 24 members. See more about miking a choir.
Acoustic Guitar Microphone
- Mount the AT2020 on a boom stand and position @ the 12th fret and aim back toward the sound hole. You may need to use an equalizer to remove some of the low mid frequencies to taste and watch the gain if using live.
Drum Overhead Microphones
- Mount (2) AT2020 microphones on (2) boom stands in front of the drum set aim down toward the left and right front of the kit. Try to get as high above the kit as possible to even out the different distances of the cymbals, toms and even the snare that will end up in the overheads. Remember the overhead mics are the most critical drum mics in the mix if used correctly.
Small Vocal Ensemble Microphone/s
- Mount (1) AT2020 for mono or (2) for stereo (or more mono coverage) on stands in front of the group.
