One of the largest houses of worship in Southern California, the Grove Community Church recently moved to a 36-acre campus in Riverside, the highlight of which is a main sanctuary that holds 1,700 people. Because of the Church's reputation for a variety of programs ranging from contemporary services, featuring a large band and vocal ensemble, to Broadway-style musicals with full orchestras, the Church needed an audio system that would meet the demands of these elaborate productions. With this in mind, The Grove hired CCI Solutions of Olympia, WA, to design and install a flexible and reliable audio system that was equally powerful and intelligible. To achieve this optimal combination of power and clarity, CCI Solutions installed two main clusters (left and right) each containing six JBL PD5322 three-way, full-range loudspeakers and eight PD5122 low-frequency loudspeakers. Four JBL AM6200 loudspeakers provide down fill, along with six JBL ASB6128 subwoofers. Additional PD5322 loudspeakers are used for delays. This multiple-cluster system provides enough flexibility to allow the Church to rearrange the system depending on the requirements of each event. "While the main worship space is not meant to be a concert house, they do occasionally host concerts with well-known Christian artists, so having a rider-friendly system for these artists was a priority," said Mark Pearson, senior systems consultant, CCI Solutions. "We know what to expect from the PD Series loudspeakers, so the controllability made them an easy choice for this project." "To me, with a project of this size, communication is crucial, and CCI Solutions answered every call and email quickly and knowledgeably." McInteer continued. "The gear has been really adaptable to all the various things we have thrown at it, and our staff at church has been very pleased with the outcome of our time and investment in a system that has fit our needs well." |
